Services Delivered
• Netball court deep cleaning
• Moss and biological growth removal
• Low-pressure superheated steam cleaning
• Biocide treatment
• Slip risk reduction
• Planned maintenance programme

The Challenge
The netball courts had become dangerously slippery due to a build-up of biological growth, resulting in moss forming across the playing surface.
This created a serious slip risk for pupils and staff, to the point where the school was forced to stop students using the courts entirely until they could be professionally restored.
The school needed a specialist contractor who could:
• Remove moss and biofilm without damaging the court surface
• Restore safe grip and surface performance
• Deliver works with minimal disruption
• Provide a long-term solution to prevent regrowth
Our Solution
Rokjet was appointed to carry out a full restoration of the netball courts.
We used low-pressure superheated steam cleaning to remove and kill the biofilm and moss growth without damaging the surface or court markings.
Once the courts had been deep cleaned, we applied a biocide treatment to inhibit future biological regrowth and keep the surface safe and slip-free for longer.
All works were delivered during school half term and holiday periods, ensuring zero disruption to lessons and activities.
Following the success of the initial restoration, Rokjet is now supporting The Queen’s School with a twice-yearly maintenance clean and biocide treatment as part of a planned preventative maintenance programme.
The netball courts were transformed from an unsafe, unusable surface into a clean, slip-free and fully playablefacility.
Surface grip was significantly improved, allowing the school to safely reopen the courts for pupil use.
The planned maintenance programme is now helping to:
• Maintain safe playing conditions year-round
• Prevent future moss and biofilm growth
• Reduce reactive cleaning costs
• Support the school’s duty of care obligations
